Song of Solomon 3:1-5: Love and Fear Through a Woman's Eyes

[The Bride's Dream]
[3:1] On my bed by night
I sought him whom my soul loves;
I sought him, but found him not.
[2] I will rise now and go about the city,
in the streets and in the squares;
I will seek him whom my soul loves.
I sought him, but found him not.
[3] The watchmen found me
as they went about in the city.
“Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”
[4] Scarcely had I passed them
when I found him whom my soul loves.
I held him, and would not let him go
until I had brought him into my mother's house,
and into the chamber of her who conceived me.
[5] I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
by the gazelles or the does of the field,
that you not stir up or awaken love
until it pleases.
(Song of Solomon 3:1-5 ESV)

And now, for something completely different.  Like starting this post with sentence fragments.

We're finally on Song of Solomon 3!  With this post, the pace will pick up significantly.  This post is a bit on the longish side, but since I'll be traveling Thursday and won't be able to post, I'll just let this serve as both the Monday and Thursday post for this week.

This post provides a fascinating insight into the woman's heart, showing a season of this marriage through her eyes.  Men, if you've ever wanted to get inside the heart of a woman and see how she views love, give this post a read!  Women, if you want to see what the Scriptures have to say about what your heart feels during romance, give this one a read!

Song of Solomon 2:16-17: How to Prepare for True Marital Intimacy

[Her]
[16] My beloved is mine, and I am his;
he grazes among the lilies.
[17] Until the day breathes
and the shadows flee,
turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle
or a young stag on cleft mountains.

(Song of Solomon 2:16-17 ESV)

God's Word keeps bringing more to the table than I expect.  I already posted on these two verses, but there's a lot more to talk about.  This post will talk about the marital beauty verses 16-17 discuss.  If you haven't read the earlier post on these verses, go back and read that, along with the rest of Chapter 2 and its posts.  This current post really only makes sense as a culmination of all that Chapter 2 has been saying.

This will also be a much shorter post than usual, but it's still got some good stuff.  Keep reading!

Question for you!

Greetings, all!

In light of the busy-ness of this week, there won't be a full post today.  Instead, I'm going to take the chance to ask you all for your input on what this blog will look like, going forward.

The primary question I'd like to ask is how long you'd like these posts to be.  Do you prefer the posts as they are, being a bit on the longish side, going as long as I need to handle the section of text?  Or would you prefer that I make them a bit shorter, and perhaps take 3-4 posts to discuss the same material I'm currently discussing in 1 post?  I would discuss the same amount of material either way; the question is whether you want it all at once or chopped up into more easily digestible bits.

Let me know what you think!  You can send me a message on Facebook (the preferred method), post in a comment here, tell me face-to-face, or send me a message on Google+.  I want this blog to be helpful to you all, so let me know how to make it as helpful as possible!
